The inspiring story of Carol's Daughter founder Lisa Price was the lead story in this issue. Jackson, and the education section was extended. Guest contributor, Reverend Alfonso Wyatt enlightened readers with Merchant of Hope.   The Beginning

The Harlem Torch magazine originally began in 2000 as a business resource magazine for a community development project to assist neighborhood enterprises through the city of New York's Department of Business Services. Gentrification was rapidly displacing long time businesses in Harlem and publicity was a key way for us to raise awareness. Today, the publication has evolved from business and political roots and through the eyes of a new generation, grown to a premier lifestyle magazine for Harlem.
